Overview: A part of CBS’ Diversity Institute, this program is geared towards opening doors for aspiring writers. The Program provides two mentors per participant, weekly workshop-style meetings with CBS show runners and executives, writers-room observation, and support.

NBC Universal Page Program

Overview: The NBC Page Program is a yearlong training program that provides on-the-job training with three-month “assignments” throughout NBC Universal. Pages conduct tours and attend career enrichment talks with their Speaker Series events, which feature guest lectures from executives and employees. Pages are also encouraged to network within the company. The NBC Page Program is notoriously competitive, accepting a mere 2% of its 16,000 annual applicants.
Length: Up to one year
Salary: $12/hour + overtime

The “Made in NY” Production Assistant Training Program

Overview: This program is specifically geared towards providing individuals with low-income backgrounds access to entry-level television jobs as a production assistant. After an unpaid training period, the Program leads into a two-year career development program that provides career placement assistance, career counseling, and support.

ABC DGA Directing Program

Overview: The selective two-year program provides participants with shadowing opportunities for executive producers and producing episodic directors of selected ABC Television Network shows. Shadowing assignments include pre-production, shooting, and/or post-production.
Length: Two years
Salary: $950/week when actively shadowing

Overview: In partnership with the Writers Guild of America West (WGAW), this one-year program is designed to help writers prepare for a role in television writing. Program participants have the opportunity to work one-on-one with programming or development executives to create spec scripts.
